With millions of ways to keep our work sorted properly, you think disorganization would be a thing of the past… but most of us are far from it! Organization is key when you work from home, especially when you have a designated office area!

Keep everything organized is one thing, but having it presentable for house guests and clients visiting your home is another. All too often we leave our home offices on the back burner… you can usually just close the door after all! Conquer the paper clutter with these tips & tricks using products that you can purchase right here on Almac!

Create a Personalized Organization System

While buying every single good looking box and organizer may in theory keep you neat and tidy for a while, you’ll end up falling into old unhealthy habits. This is why establishing an organization system that works specifically for you is key. Start by creating a list of all the things you’ll have to keep organized, filed and stored away by day, week, month and year. From there you can get a good idea of what kind of specific sizes and types of boxes and organizing bins you will need. For instance, a sleek and professional looking faux leather container is a great way to sort daily papers that would usually just be an unorganized mess!

Hide Ugly Eyesores

Ok so now we’ve tackled the reality that the more stuff you have piled around your desk and in your work area, the less productive you are. Unorganization sets the tone for an unhappy workspace, but what about all of those unattractive modems, and plugs? One great hack we’ve seen is purchasing matching small boxes to hide and store ugly power bars in the open by cutting a hole into the side of the box, threading it through and voila! Eyesore gone. You can also use this trick to banish bulky wireless routers from her home office too by passing cables through a hole in the back of the box or swapping it for a market tray! Another tip: for small items like paper clips, pens, highlighters etc, use matching fabric basket sets that can be thrown into the wash!

Give Yourself a Break

At the end of the day, there’s always going to be something that comes up, an item that really has no place anywhere that is suddenly apart of your work area, or a temporary project will need it’s own space. Organizing these items into a larger basket, such as a handsome wicker chest is perfect for keeping your office uncluttered and not taking up too much space. It’s also great to have a place to throw things into in a rush… isn’t it?
